We get these a lot.
Jake had always been the "tech guy" in his group, so when Rob asked him to edit a video for his start-up, he figured it’d be easy. "I’ll find a free online tool and knock it out," he said confidently.
He opened his laptop, sipping his coffee as he searched for video editing platforms. A dozen sites promised “professional results in minutes!” Jake clicked the first one, greeted by a slick interface. But then—templates. Hundreds of them. “Sleek Business or Modern Corporate? Tech Minimal?” He scrolled, confused, trying to pick the right one as minutes ticked by.
Finally, he made a choice. "Simple enough," he muttered, but the moment he tried customizing, the timeline appeared—a monstrous maze of layers, text, and music, tangled together like a puzzle with no solution. "What is this madness?" Jake cried, accidentally deleting a crucial clip as the video morphed into chaos.
Desperate, he tried another platform. But now transitions were locked behind a paywall. Another tool refused to remove its watermark. The harder he tried, the worse things got.
At 3 AM, defeated, Jake messaged Rob: "How about we just post a photo with a caption? I’m never editing a video again."
